The sports visitors programs are sports-themed exchange programs that take place over two weeks. The programs include activities and sessions on nutrition, strength and conditioning, gender equity in sport, Title IX, sport and disability, and team building. Participants have the opportunity to experience American society, culture, and values firsthand. The hope is that sports visitors with develop their own personal action plans to be utilized upon their return home.
Sports visitors are young non-elite athletes and coaches.
There is no application for the sports visitors program. Participants are nominated or invited to take part by the staff of US Embassies around the world.
